A film photography workshop and styled shoot at the Tudor Place in Washington, DC. — Last October I attended my first in-person workshop, ever! I saw my friend Natalie, of Natalie Jayne Photography, was hosting a workshop to teach the art of film photography. I knew I needed to attend! I’ve had my great-grandfathers Nikon […]
Jonathan and Reneé | A Historic Old Donation Wedding in Virginia Beach ______ Mark has known Jon his whole life, since they’re brothers and all, and I met him on a skiing trip over a decade ago (I feel slightly old). He and Mark picked me up at like 4 in the morning so we […]
Historic Greenbrier Farms | Chesapeake, Virginia Wedding September 14, 2019 was all about Morgan and Mason. As Mark mentioned in last week’s blog, we met these two over a year ago before they hired us to do their engagement session at First Landing. We were so so happy when they met with us again earlier […]
Heather and Stephen are literal superheros. Not only did they plan a wedding while buying a house and moving (on top of continuing on with their normal lives), but they also had to scramble to find a new venue at the last minute!! They found out their first choice had been sold and would no […]
I can’t say it enough- Allison and Samuel are perfect for each other. I basically died right after Allison asked Mark and I to photograph their wedding, because they are just so stinkin’ adorable. They are both laid back and just happy to be around each other. They make weird faces at each other and call each other random variations of the word “babe.”
Eileen and Dustin were wed on a warm fall morning at the Old Town Hall, in Fairfax, Virginia. The beauty of the venue matched that of the joyous couple seamlessly: refined and inviting, open but intimate.
It’s been several months now since this shoot, and yet I’ve still not blogged the other half, so here it is today! Whitney and Robbie, the gorgeous couple that modelled for us, have been married for almost 4 years, but they acted every bit like newly weds. They are doing such a good job keeping the joy alive, and that made it so easy to capture their love for each other. They were joking around and laughing the whole time.
We had the fun opportunity to get to know Christen Allocco, of Allocco Design a few weeks ago. She just got married this past March and we met up with her at the Pagoda in Norfolk during the golden hour(s) to take some bridal portraits.
I drove down Rt 17, turned right off of it, and drove until I hit the water, where Bay Tree Manor stands nestled beside the- you guessed it- bay. The Chesapeake Bay, which I hear may or may not have been formed by a giant meteor back in the day.
I had no idea the bed and breakfast existed before that weekend, and I’m a little surprised I didn’t, but I don’t get out much. Hehehe. However, it’s a sweet event venue, and definitely a place I wouldn’t mind spending a weekend getaway.
It’s a cold Virginia morning, January 20, 2018. The sanctuary at Oak Grove Baptist Church is dressed in tulle, filled with the murmurs of family and loved ones. But everyone falls silent as Abby and her father round the corner and appear at the end of the isle. Sapphire colored bridesmaids and sharply dressed groomsmen stand at the front of the room, but Josh is all Abby sees. He’s holding back tears, but by the time Abby and her dad make it to him, a few have escaped. The pastor prompts everyone to close their eyes and pray- pray for this new marriage that is just beginning.
