Shannon and Jason are going to be parents!! They got married around the same time we did, and we actually shared some of our wedding decorations. I’ve known Shannon for what feels like forever- she went to school with my best friends and went to the same church occasionally.
When we pulled up into their driveway all the way out on Nomini Creek off of the Potomac in Westmoreland, they welcomed us with easy-going smiles, and then we all piled into Shannon’s car to go to an abandoned wharf for their maternity portraits. We were greeted by an Osprey, who refused to land in her nest while we walked out on to the old dock. Jason was so sweet during the entire session, guiding Shannon over old boards, checking reeds for water snakes, suggesting locations we could go to for nature photography, everything. Because they are so laid back, and we are as well, it felt like hanging out with old friends, even though Mark had only just met both of them, and I had just met Jason.
Shannon hesitantly told us the gender of the baby while she smiled down at her growing belly. They haven’t told that many people, so we feel really special that we are in the know! I am constantly humbled by the fact that our clients trust us with such special moments in life. From weddings, to babies, to engagements- Mark and I are so lucky to be doing them all!! Enjoy Shannon and Jason’s maternity session.
